Awesome Strawberry Shake

This indulgent, yet healthy snack is great just about anytime.  Toss in that leftover bit of salad mix that's starting to wilt (you'll never taste it, but benefit from the nutrition and clean out the fridge at the same time)

4 cups organic almond milk (I like the Pacific brand)
1 bag frozen organic strawberries
1 organic banana
1 handful organic baby carrots
Optional: 1 scoop Metagenics Ultrameal Vanilla - makes it taste "malty"
Optional: Any small quantity of veggies in the fridge you want to finish off

  1. Place all ingredients in your blender (preferrably VitaMix or equivalent)
  2. You may want to add a little water to facilitate the blending process
  3. Secure lid and tamper, select variable speed #1, turn on, quickly increase speed to #10, then to high
  4. Use tamper to push all ingredients down to the blade
  5. Run for about 20-30 seconds until smooth

Anytime Gluten-free Granola

This tasty, healthy snack is great just about anywhere, anytime.  Add hemp or almond milk (warm or cold) to eat as hot or cold cereal.

4 cups gluten-free oats
3 cups organic shredded coconut
3 cups dried fruit mix (I like blueberries, orange cranberries, raisins, dried apples)
3 cups nut/seed mix (I like sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seed, sesame seeds)
2-3 TBSP cinnamon

1/2 cup organic honey
1/4 cup organic molasses
1/3 cup organic canola oil
1/4 cup reverse osmosis water
1/2 TSP sea salt

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl
  2. In small saucepan, bring liquid ingredients to a boil
  3. Pour liquid over dry ingredients and mix well with clean hands
  4. Distribute over 2 cookie sheets
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes @ 350 degrees
  6. Remove cookie sheets and turn granola with spatula
  7. Bake for another 10-12 minutes @ 350 degrees
  8. Let cool

SuperGreen Lemon-Lime-Ade

This nutrient-packed raw drink is the first thing in my stomach in the morning.  I refrigerate the remainder and drink for an afternoon snack.

6 stalks organic kale
3 stalks organic romaine lettuce
1 organic banana
1/2 organic pineapple, cut into wedges (easily digestible by your blender)
1 organic lemon - peeled and seeded
1 TBSP organic lime juice
5-6 large ice cubes (made with reverse osmosis water)

Yields about 40 ounces (2 servings for me)
